Official Synopsis

Brandon, a disconnected teen numbed by the violence of video games, visits his grandfather Rob, a retired veteran shaped by the memories he keeps tucked away behind old medals and a fireplace that never quite goes out. When Brandon begins to ask questions, Rob opens up about his time in Vietnam—stories of loss, fear, and brotherhood that he’s carried for decades. But what begins as a moment of bonding quickly spirals into a confrontation between two generations divided by values, memory, and the blurred morality of war. Fireside Conversations is a stirring short film about legacy, trauma, and what happens when the past refuses to stay buried.

Logline

Director/Producer/Director of Photography

Juda Goldstein is a highly decorated Director/Producer and a Visual Effects Artist from Arnold, Maryland. One of his latest films, Find My, was screened at the AMC Empire 25 and was an official selection at the All-American High School Film Festival, along with Fan-Fare, a film he produced, which won the Emerging Talent Award at the same festival. He has seen recognition at many festivals like the Broadneck Film Festival, the All American High School Film Festival, and the Annapolis Film Festival.

Caroline Pappas is a 18-year-old producer, director, and A.D. from Annapolis, Maryland. She is a freshman at Anne Arundel Community College and is currently working on her Associate’s degree.

Bella Saros is a senior at Broadneck High School. She is a filmmaker based in Annapolis, MD. She's interested in directing or producing.

During most of the year, Ryan attends Crofton High School where he works on the set crew for the theater department.

Nathan DiVito is a 17-year-old senior at South River High School. Nathan is a graduate of The Center of Applied Technology class of Electronic Media and Film. A class where he created films entered into SkillsUSA and the Broadneck Film Festival, as well as creating videos in his free time.

Nathan is an award-winning filmmaker and rising senior at Archbishop Spalding High School. He enjoys writing, drawing, and filmmaking. He is a published author and writes for his local magazine.
